Special Education Teacher Description Major duties and responsibilities:
* Collaborate with General Education teachers to create inclusion classrooms.
* Adapt curriculum
* Provide support for diverse learners
* Foster an inclusive environment
* Differentiate instruction
* Modify assessments
* Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities
* Communicate with parents
* Collaborate with support staff
* Provide and attend professional developments as required and needed to perform essential elements of the job.
* Hold required IEP conferences and maintain due process paperwork as assigned by the supervisor.
Other responsibilities:
* Create an inviting and welcoming environment for parents for conferences
* Attend and participate in PLC meetings as scheduled
* Maintain confidentiality of all IEP student information, only sharing what is appropriate for the student's educational needs
Education:
1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
